Triangles

Examples replayed move by move

In brief

Each example is replayed by the app's engine: it accepts or rejects each line and counts the triangles. The stars are named A, B, C…; Player 1 draws in red-orange, Player 2 in blue.

The first triangle

Three stars. The third line closes the triangle and scores a point; no more triangles are possible, so the game ends.

Game over: Player 1 wins, 1 to 0.

Two triangles at once

Four stars in a square. The fourth side offers the diagonal, which closes two triangles; the other diagonal is then refused because it would cross the first.

6Player 2B–Drefused: it would cross a line2 to 0
ABCD
Game over: Player 1 wins, 2 to 0.

A star inside

The large triangle ABC contains star D: closing it scores nothing. The lines to D then cut out three small triangles, which count.

6Player 2C–Dcloses 2 triangles1 to 2

A star in the way, and a tie

A, B and C are in a line: the line A–C is refused because it would pass through B. The rest of the game ends in a tie, one triangle each.

The Play again after a triangle option

With the option on, the player who closes a triangle immediately draws another line.
